In Memory of Bob Leonard 1948-2011
Robert D. Leonard, 63 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a valiant struggle with cancer.
He was born July 11, 1948 in Lorain. Bob was raised in Lorain and graduated from Admiral King High School in the class of 1966. He lived in South Amherst before moving to Amherst where he made his home since 1995.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Bob was a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Architecture. He worked for several architectural firms in the Cleveland area, most recently at ka, Inc. and Middough, Inc. He was a member of the LoCo Brits, a British Car Club. He loved driving and working on cars, particularly Mini Coopers.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Alexis Leonard (nee: Richard); his son David R. Leonard of Bristow, Virginia; his daughter, Katherine and her husband, Zachary Cousins of Gainesville, Virginia; his beloved grandchildren, Anna and Stella Cousins; his brothers, Mark Leonard of North Carolina, Thomas Leonard (Linda) of Columbus, Leo Leonard and his wife Sam of Palm Coast, Florida and Donald and Nancy Leonard of Avon; his sisters Patricia Leonard of Ohio and Mary Ann Leonard and her spouse Jamie Peacock of Washington, DC. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Antoinette Leonard (nee: Carson).
